About
Books for the Better was founded by three high school students who attend East Brunswick High School. We started this nonprofit because we realized how many children were not given the same opportunities that we have. As children, we had the privilege of reading books like Magic Tree House, the XYZ Mysteries, and more children's books like these. We wanted to give kids who were less fortunate the same happiness that we had growing up.

I am a sophomore that attends East Brunswick High School. I believe if you are passionate and work hard enough, you can achieve your dreams. As someone who takes multiple extra-curriculars, I know how important it is to keep everything organized and manage time well. When I was growing up, some of my favorite books were the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, as well as the Magic Tree House series. I know how much they shaped me to be the person I am today, and I just want to pass the same joy those who are less fortunate.

I am a sophomore who attends East Brunswick High School. I am a very hardworking student who puts a lot of importance on my grades. Even so, I still believe that teamwork is important as I am apart of the EBHS Varsity Swim Team. I enjoy working with other people for things that I am passionate about, like Books for the Better. I am also apart of Girl Scouts where we work to make the environment around us better than we found it.

I am a sophomore who attends East Brunswick High School. I am a very diligent student and I always make sure to get everything done efficiently. Also, I am the Fundraising Chair for my Class Council therefore I am experienced in raising money for a cause. I have gotten the chance to volunteer at many places that help children in need and it hurts to know that they don't have the same opportunities that I had during my childhood. Books have helped me become the person I am today which is why I want to put in the time to help complete our mission.

How We Got HereWe were looking for a way to give back to our community, but we did not have an idea of how to. When we realized how many children do not experience the joys of reading a book, we knew this is what we wanted to do. Growing up, those books shaped us to be who we are today. Knowing that less fortunate kids do not have them, we decided to take action. To learn more about what we do, visit our Home page.

Our Future Plans
Even though we are starting on a small scale, we plan to expand across the globe. We want to help kids in areas further than just the United States. We also plan to hold events in local libraries to spread our cause and to gain supporters.
